Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business
A more restrictive subset of the WOSB program for women-owned small businesses whose owners also meet economic disadvantage criteria. Eligible for additional set-asides reserved exclusively for EDWOSB-certified firms.
Who qualifies
WOSB-eligible firms (51% women-owned, controlled, and managed) whose owners ALSO meet economic disadvantage criteria — personal net worth under $850,000 (excluding firm equity and primary residence), adjusted gross income averaging under $400,000 over three years, and personal assets under $6.5 million.
How to certify
Apply through certify.SBA.gov or an approved Third-Party Certifier. EDWOSB applications require additional personal financial documentation beyond the WOSB application. Certification covers both WOSB and EDWOSB.
What it gets you
Access to EDWOSB-only set-asides in addition to WOSB set-asides and general small-business set-asides. Sole-source awards up to $4.5 million ($7 million for manufacturing) when only one responsible EDWOSB is identified.
