Seeks bids for the remanufacture of arm fire initiators used in C-17 aircraft emergency deployment systems. Qualified defense contractors with experience in explosive devices and aerospace components would bid.
This is a pre-solicitation for arm fire initiators. The Arm/Fire Initiators are used to initiate the Flotation Equipments Deployment System (FEDS) panel assemblies in the C-17 aircraft. The Arm/Fire Initiators can be activated in an emergency to initiate the explosive charge in the FEDS panels to cut through the aircraft's fuselage, creating hatches for life raft deployment and aircrew escape.
