The tree inventory and canopy assessment will be instrumental in producing recommendations for an Urban Forest Management Plan (UFMP) to improve the immediate and long-term management of the City’s urban forest. Additionally, tree inventory and canopy assessment support the community engagement and feedback component of this project, by deeply embedding local voices in this project from the start. Both assessments will be summarized to support further community education and engagement processes that will contribute to refining the UFMP recommendations and eventually implementing the plan at a neighborhood level.
